I painted this subject once before and have decided to paint it again. The cyclist's name is Juli Briskman from Virginia, who was fired for having flipped off the Moronic Motorcade and says she has no regrets for what she did. Said Juli: "All my frustration about this administration just welled up inside me and I started thinking about the things that I think are going wrong right now in the country ... that was the only way I had to give him the message I wanted to give him. It felt great."
Upon learning of Juli losing her job, someone started a GoFundMe account on her behalf, raising $90K for her. Juli has also received numerous job offers from around the world. She is grateful.
Regarding my paintings, a person once told me that she liked my "whimsical angst." I really like that description and am happy to classify my painting style as such. I also like to describe my style as "representational abstract," where I celebrate the essence and not just the likeness of my subjects from both my real life and imagined life.
