Born enslaved to a family of a thousand snakes, his cruel snake step-brothers placed an impossible price in exchange for his liberation - the sacred nectar of immortality. With fierce determination, Garuda managed to capture the nectar from the gods. Impressed with his swift agility and impressive strength, the gods persuaded him to stay - and so he did, flying freely as a friend to the gods and sworn enemy to snakes. As the personification of courage, Garuda is a symbol of determination, martial prowess and dedication.
