It was just a little pipeline - going through the wetlands of Cienaga Grande de Santa Marta, Colombia - where the bright green and blue Sapphired Bellied Hummingbird made its home among the mangroves. But the 1970's pipeline ended up obstructing tidal flow and killed large sections of mangroves, and endangering these birds. Neither has recovered and there are between 50-250 left in the wild right now. Let's learn from this and do better.
