A semi abstract watercolour scene, as I am experimenting with a high horizon line, and more intuitive washes.
I am really thrilled with the colours, shapes, markings and atmosphere, which conveys my interpretation of ice cliffs and icebergs 🧊 in the Antarctica.
This painting was inspired by a recent trip to the International Antarctica Centre in Christchurch, and it's a tribute to the beautiful and desolate vistas of the Antarctica.
Method
Semi Abstract Watercolor Landscape
As with all my paintings I move the pigment using water from a spray bottle and tilting methods. I like the colours to mix on the paper.
I am a watercolour artist from New Zealand. My watercolour paintings are inspired by New Zealand landscapes, and strive to convey the spiritual connection we have with landscapes in all of it's manifestations . I am inspired to convey serenity through my landscape paintings.
I use gravity ( tilting board) and water from a spray bottle to move pigments on the paper. This is using spiritual forces to influence the composition. I also use transparent pigments, and allow the colours to mix on the paper to try and display a wide array of tones, values and colours.
