The Dark Souls series is one of my favorite video game franchises of all time. I have wanted to design my own Souls inspired boss for some time now and have finally done so. I call him The Lord of Thorns. His immense strength comes from his ability to control the very forest in which he lives, and nothing will stop him from protecting that forest for eternity.
Erik Kirchner is an American artist and illustrator best known for his album cover artwork created for heavy metal bands including Humanity’s Last Breath, Obsydians, Shadow Domain, and The Erkonauts. Erik’s commissioned work demonstrates his ability to visually express and compliment musical tones, rhythms, patterns and lyrics. His signature style is strikingly sharp, utilizing high contrast and insanely detailed textures to illustrate his concepts.
