Fish are some of our least visible urban animals, but their underwater world is not so very far away from ours. The things we put on our land, and specifically our lawns, are what we put in our groundwater, streams, and aquatic wildlife. From pesticides to erosion, excessive lawn maintenance can have a serious impact on the delicate chemical balance of a river ecosystem.
