This is a portrait of Hemlock the barred owl, one of the latest additions to the flock of permanent residents at the Teton Raptor Center in Jackson, Wyoming. The barred owl can now be found as far east as Maine and as far west as British Columbia, and the furthermost reaches of its range coincide with the coastal ranges of the two species of hemlock tree pictured, mountain hemlock and eastern hemlock.
I am a freelance illustrator from the mountain town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In 2016 I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration. I am currently located in Eugene, Oregon.
