This was based off of an Inktober prompt titles 'Breakable'.
When I saw this prompt all I could think of were physical things that could break; vases, plates, bones (sticks and stones may break my bones but) - but then I thought of a profound silence that engulfs an empty cafe after-hours - how even a sigh can relax a silence stretched tight, I thought of hearts breaking, relationships breaking, chains that hold you down breaking.. all these intangible, subtle things that are strong and fragile at the same time - a walker on a tight-rope who changes everything by tipping towards one side or the other - you make these unseen things stronger by keeping them intact, or you crack them in ways that leaves a mark.
I wanted to draw something hopeful - the breaking of a new, yet trusty; dependable dawn, and the impending shattering of a sleepy; stretched silence by an alarm clock that's just about to go off.
