This Buddhist poem was found on boxes of medical supplies sent from Japan to China, and served as one of the driving factors behind the collaboration between myself and Kym Liwanag (IG: @kymchiwrites), a fellow watercolor artist and calligrapher--if you haven't, also check out "Boat at Sunrise"! Our collaboration started around March 2020, when the COVID pandemic was starting to be taken seriously on a global scale, and we wanted to foster a sense of hope and camaraderie to those who would view the result of our art. Nearly a year and a half later, this sentiment rings true.
