While this is meant to be art of Lucifer Morningstar, it is also a bit of a personal piece. I enjoy stories of redemption. In the show, time and time again, Lucifer is held back by his own self-perceived inadequacies that he couldn't admit to himself. He felt his past had doomed him to be a monster incapable of change, of something better. Whether he was conscious of it or not, he learns to recognize his sabotage as the series progresses. Lucifer slowly begins to allow himself to perceive himself as a flawed person, not a monster, worthy of redemption and of love from others and from himself, most importantly. This is ultimately what the piece is about. Sometimes we feel like monsters whether we did anything to deserve the name or not. Our hearts tell us we deserve to feel unloved and unchanging. Sometimes, you are the weight on your shoulders, and like the Morningstar, we should allow ourselves to rise higher than we did yesterday. Even when it's difficult, rise every day, every time.
