The Yoruba tribal marks are scarifications which are specific identification and beautification marks. Designed on the face or body. They are inscribed by cutting and burning of the skin. The primary function is for identification of a person's tribe, family or parental lineage the secondary function is for beautification. But there's a stigma that comes with it. In modern times there's even less of this cultural practice because it is less fashionable. Given a choice whether or not to have one most people wouldn'tš . Is this a part of our culture we would be better off without moving forward?ā£ā£
