I've always been mesmerized by the Aurora Borealis, this beautiful atmospheric phenomenon that manifests itself in the skies.
As reference for this digital painting I chose a picture of the young model Lauren Burch, taken by Brian Lawson; her fine facial features and the innocence in her eyes were perfect for what I wanted to depict.

Speaking of which, as one of my dearest Nordic Folk Metal bands which brought so much inspiration to my life, I dedicated them the pendant in the painting, containing references to Midnattsol's logo.
I also found appropriate to include the constellation of Sagittarius blended in the starry sky, for it is the model's zodiac sign and I like to add a bit of personal meaning for the muses that inspires my creations, as a token of my gratitude.
