Lets talk about Kobolds
I love these little dudes, in all forms. I like all of the variations of them in folklore, especially the version that would materialize as candles and other objects to help guide miners.
They are also the best D&D creatures. Just the best little chaos muppets...
Did you know that the element Colbalt is named after Kobolds? When miners in Germanic areas started finding what they thought was slightly darker silver they of course tried to smelt it the same way. This resulted in what they thought was unusable metal and noxious fumes. As this continued to happen, they blamed it on Kobolds playing tricks on them. Eventually the metal took on the name of Cobalt.
