Just as the trees begin to drop their withered leaves, so do the beasts of the forest drop their tails in a curious ritual that forewarns the dark winter ahead. Symbols of perseverance and everlasting life, young women travel out into the forests at dawn to harvest the tails for their towns’ season cornucopia and centerpieces. Freshly-plucked, wet and writhing, these bouquets promise plentiful food stores for the cold months to come.
Claire Hummel is an LA-based art director and concept artist who has been active in the games industry for over a decade. She most recently shipped Half-Life: Alyx, and is still at Valve working on a number of other cool projects, with a number of equally cool people.
Before that she worked as the production designer on the Emmy Award winning Westworld VR at HBO, as well as contributing concept art to a number of titles including Fable Legends, Sunset Overdrive, and Bioshock Infinite among way too many others.
