The Valinor were rarely spotted on the material plane, but were documented to have been seen in unusual numbers during The Battle of the Crescent, which claimed tens of thousands of lives in a mere 3 days and 3 nights. It was said by survivors that, whilst the battle raged on, at the moment of dusk robed figures briefly appeared above each and every one of the day's dead; thousands of beings materialising and disappearing in an instant, night after bloody night. Witnesses believed they were the souls of the dead departing the body, but eons later it became common knowledge that they were the Valinor, come to retrieve the souls for their master.
