Polydeuces: Pollux, 2014
Watercolor on Cradled Wood Panel
Inspired by the story of Castor and Pollux, from Greek mythology. This is a portrayal of Pollux, the immortal of the twins, shown as being immune to death and the fates, as the hand cannot touch the character. This piece is part of a pair, the other painting is of Castor, the mortal twin, being taken into death hold. The two are also known as Gemini, or Polydeuces.
