Polydeuces: Castor, 2014
Watercolor on Cradled Wood Panel
Inspired by the story of Castor and Pollux, from Greek mythology. This is a portrayal of Castor, the mortal of the twins, being taken by the fates to the underworld. This piece is part of a set, with Pollux, this immortal twin, being the other half. In the other piece Pollux is shown as being immune to death, as it cannot touch the character. The two are also known as Gemini, or Polydeuces.
