The Zhu Jiang or Pearl River is an extensive river system in China, so named because of the pearl coloured shells that lie at the bottom of the riversection that flows through the city of Guangzhou.
It is the second largest (In volume) in China and the Estury of this river is regularly dredged to keep it open to ocean vessels, sadly it is also one of the most polluted rivers in the world.
