I am deeply moved to unveil the next piece of my Easter series: "By His Wounds." This painting, inspired by the prophecy of Isaiah 53:5-7, seeks to capture the essence of Christ's sacrifice for us. "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
In this piece, I have focused on the nail-scarred hand of Jesus—a powerful symbol of His love, His suffering, and the ultimate sacrifice He made for our redemption. The scars, a testament to His profound love for humanity, invite us to reflect on the depth of His compassion and the price paid for our salvation.
What I find most compelling about this piece is the contrast between the stark reality of the wounds and the divine light that seems to emanate from Christ. It's a reminder that even in the midst of suffering, God's love and light prevail, offering hope, healing, and renewal to all who believe.
"By His Wounds" is a call to remember the love that Jesus has for each of us and the healing available through His sacrifice. My hope is that this piece will serve as a daily reminder of the peace and healing that come from Christ. May it inspire you to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus and the love He has for each one of us—a love so great that He bore our sins and suffered in our place.
