I wanted to represent a beautiful woman staring directly at the viewer. The 'piercing' factor was really what I wanted to go for in this piece, so I really emphasised the blue in her eyes and made them glow towards the bottom half of them - this helped to contrast the glowing fire substance coming from the bottom. The eyes were by far the main focal point so I applied really dark values around the eye lashes to enforce this. I thought it would be interesting to cover her face with subtle but striking tattoos or markings, this suggests some story to her and adds character.
I am a freelance concept artist and illustrator who specializes in character, creature and environment design. I am also experienced with fundamentals of Adobe After Effects.
