Brandan's work reimagines the aesthetics/themes of Queer Americana and nostalgia through the lens of Futurism/Fantasy. He uses portraiture as a mirror in order to create anachronism and gender-play. A Mexican-American brought up in the Midwest now residing in Los Angeles, his work heavily emphasizes space as a vehicle for memory and reality, a product of his transient upbringing.
