This is an 12 x 16 oil painting on canvas of a chestnut quarter horse. I used a reference photo from MJ Smith that I received through his art school. I like the reference photo as it was quite detailed of the horses head and neck , then the rest of his body just fades in to the stall and darkness. I love to paint realism, hope you think this beautiful animal looks alive and well!
