This is a pretty personal illustration. It's been three years since a very traumatic moment in my life, and I've grown so much from then.
From an artist's perspective, this is also one of my favorite illustrations from 2020! I've been into red and blue lately, and I'm excited to see where the next year will take me, art-wise and life-wise.
Made with scanned lineart and colored in Ibis Paint X.
Hello! I am Nina Alvarez, a self-taught illustrator and occasional storyteller based in Davao City, Philippines. I enjoy drawing pretty things with a dash of dark undertones (and maybe a little sprinkling of gore, too!).
With my background as a writer, I find that telling stories in my art is immensely important. Good stories are my biggest influence, and I do my best to say thank you and pay it forward by creating stories of my own.
This is a gallery-quality giclée art print on 100% cotton rag archival paper, printed with archival inks. Each art print is listed by sheet size and features a minimum one-inch border.
