"The world is increasingly unthinkable- a world of planetary disasters, emerging pandemics, tectonic shifts, strange weather, oil-drenched seascapes, and the furtive, always-looming threat of extinction."
-Eugene Thacker, In the Dust of This Planet
Pen and Ink, 9'' x 11'', 2016
Through my art, I aim to illuminate the connections between art and science. My work explores the molecular and cellular underpinnings of life, the intricacies of nature, and earth's unsteadily shifting climate. In these themes, I seek to uncover the opposition between the optimism of scientific progress as a means to prosperity, and the pessimism of humankind's irreversible ecological impact on our planet.
