The Serpentite Ridge juts out into the ocean from the main landmass of western Lirrin, its tail looping around to form the southwestern arc of the Serpentback Bay. On days with a strong sea breeze, visitors can hear the rasp of the Serpentite’s scales sliding against each other.
While some may find the mountain’s stare unnerving, visitors can rest assured that the Serpentite Ridge has remained largely motionless for over a century. Its last recorded shift, also known as coiling, occurred 135 years ago and shifted the mouth of the bay 2.3 degrees to the north.
