When I thought about what I would want to do in a world without misogyny, my first thought was “be able to walk alone at night, without having to be hyper vigilant”. For all the ways that feminine identities across cultures are associated with night, dreaming, and the moon, being able to walk unbothered and unchaperoned is not a privilege we have. I painted this piece as a fantasy of what it might be like to reclaim that dreamscape as our rightful place of imagination and self-reflection.
