Sandra Cohen

I grew up in Newton MA and studied fine art at Parsons School of Design NY, the SMFA, Pine Manor, and the Art Institute of Boston. After Parsons, I returned to Boston and continued to paint while performing as a singer and guitar player in the rock trios Grind and Planet Queen. I began exhibiting my visual work at music venues in Brooklyn and Boston. I was juried into the Copley Society In 2000 and In April 2006, Co|So hosted my first solo show in the Red Room, where my work was selected for the Harvard Club’s Emerging Visions 2006. In 2008 I received a painting fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. I currently live and paint in Cambridge, work as a graphic designer for Actors’ Shakespeare Project, play drums for Ghost Print, and bake one consumption-defiant cake per year.
